Borrower's Guide

Getting a Library Card

Patrons who have a library card from a library within the SEO Consortium may use that card to borrow materials from Bluffton Public Library.  A list of consortium members is available at: http://servingeveryohioan.org/maps/seomembers.html.

Adults who are not existing cardholders within the SEO Consortium may apply for a Bluffton Public Library card with a valid ID and proof of current address. Patrons are asked to have their library card with them to check out library materials or use public computers. A signature at the time of registration indicates you are signing a contract with the library and will be responsible for any materials charged out to that card, including fees for damaged or lost items.

Minors under age 18 who are not existing cardholders may apply for a card with a parent/guardian present to sign an authorization card for him or her.  The signing parent/guardian's library account must be in good standing before a minor card will be issued. Parent/guardian is responsible for all materials checked out to a minor's card and all fines/fees accrued until cardholder becomes an adult.
